The engine was already out, so the frame was fairly easy to strip down.

the paint work, despite first appearence is remarcably solid, but several of the componetes are, can I use the word rusty?

It might be an understatement ...

I had a few days playing with wire wheels, sand paper, files, infact anything I could lay my hands on that would shift rust.

Unfortunately the rack resisted all attempts to get it smooth, I'm doing this moped on a budget so filling and sanding are out of the question.

Still, after a few days work and a coat of paint  the bits I've tackled don't look too bad.

The forks weren't that bad and have cleaned up OK.
