The Optios

Pentax Optio 550

My first Digital camera was one of these, an all singing, all dancing wonder with a 5X zoom.

In its day this, and the Optio555 were the best cameras around, boasting a 5 meg sensor and full range of options they were effectively miniature SLRs. By modern standards the truth is a little scary, the start up time takes a full 5 seconds, image writing to the memory card seems to take forever  as well, but when released it didn't seem to take that long. We've just got used to the faster speeds of modern cameras.

The image quality was impressive with plenty of scope for printing out up to A4 and beyond.

Sadly my original camera lens died and after a long search a replacement was obtained some 6 years later.
